The item you have selected can not be part of a text chain.

The text boxes you have selected already belong to the same text chain.

To “Split” a text chain into two chains you must first select a textbox in a chain where you want the split to occur.

To “Duplicate” a box from a text chain you must first select a textbox in a text chain.

To “Delete” a box from a text chain you must first select a textbox in a text chain.
